2Klub Newsletter 2004 : March (1)

Review: Sundissential @ The Works, Birmingham.
Sundissential at The Works is starting to establish itself as a notable event in the hard house calendar, and the event on February 29th. didn't disappoint. The club put on a good show with a strong line-up of hh regulars in the main room, and good supporting cast playing funky house in the second room. Some DJs from Gurn.net were billed as playing in the loos but I didn't visit so didn't see 'em. The night was rounded out with a balloon drop and firework display, and everyone I spoke to seemed to be having a great time. The event ran from 2pm to midnight with an after-party held well into Monday morning at Radius.

Sundissential is branching out these days, with an event held recently in Plymouth, and Sundissential South starting up at the end of this month in London. There's even talk of a Sundissential event coming up in Cheltenham!

Release, Birmingham: Closure.
Release closed as from the beginning of this month, after achieving only poor attendances. It's very difficult to attract a crowd in Birmingham at unusual hours, like Sunday night, and despite the music being superb, the club struggled to create atmosphere in a room that could easily have held 500.

2Klub Newsletter Subscribers Campaign.

People receiving the newsletter are those who subscribe through the website home page. I've done very little to recruit people so far, and don't send the newsletter out unsolicited, (i.e. unless someone subscribes I don't send them a newsletter). Nevertheless the number of subscribers has steadily grown, and is now pushing 1,000. If you send the newsletter on to anyone, (some people have told me they forward it to mates), or if you know of someone who might be interested, please encourage them either to subscribe through the website: http://www.2klub.com or to contact me directly: Jonathan@2Klub.com. I'm aiming to revamp the website soon and would like to let as many people know about the changes as possible. Your support will be much appreciated and will also help develop further contributors and reviewers for both the newsletter and the website. Thanks.

Apologies again for the lateness of this issue, which has been due to pressure of work, (yes damnit, the real world!... arrgh!)

Forget the rest, it's time for the best - Sundissential - The Worlds Most Outrageous Club, is coming to London.

Sundissential is proud to present the launch of Sundissential South.

From weekly Sundissential parties in Birmingham, to hosting arenas at 35,000 capacity summer festivals, Sundissential have a massive following. The vibe and reputation is helped by it's loyal members who make the trip each weekend for another dose of Hard Dance heaven.

The driving, uplifting, high energy sets from the likes of Charlotte Birch, Ilogik, Nick Rafferty, and Strange Dave to name but a few are what sets this club apart from the rest. Taking centre stage (or ceiling) in the venue will be a nine foot (yes nine foot!) disco ball, so big it had to be delivered in two pieces
